After playing in bands for more than 10 years, I gave myself a bit of room to step out of my confort zone. I always lacked the confidence to to do so but as the clock kept ticking, I thought that time had come face my fears. I came to realise that it's just fun and it's about learning and enjoying my musical path regardless of the outcome or what others might think. :) Hopefully they'll like it though.
Burn & Rave is inspired by the famous poem from Dylan Thomas:
This revolt against the passing of time, trying to fill the void that is our life with all what you can before it's too late. Trying to make some sense out of it, give some meaning to our short time span down here.
Moreover, somehow, letting go of control, knowing that we're temporary pieces in a much wider plan than ourselves, and because anyway you have no choice.
Well, that's a complex feeling. But while the song has a clear dark vibe to it, it's agitated on the verses (guitar solos) with lots of notes. Some very hectic stuff (just like our life). Meanwhile the chorus has something very "orchestral" and "grand" to it. It's only rhythmical, and so very "grounded". It has that nearly "symphonic" touch to it I think. A bit like the planet orbiting around the sun.
And finally in the middle, after so much mess, you've got this peaceful moment that flows a bit like water. Like letting go. Just like staring at the moon and just being here, in the moment.
That's how I came to call it "Burn & Rave".
